As Study Breaks’ online and assistant editor, it’s my job to bring you all the hottest news, trends, and juiciest gossip in real-time and in our fabulous magazine. I’m a senior studying public relations at UT and couldn’t have asked for a better college job than making college students the celebs of Study Breaks Magazine. I have a frequent travel bug and have been everywhere from Chicago to Hong Kong and even all the way to Zambia. The way to my heart is through my stomach, so don’t you dare take me to Olive Garden or Red Lobster. It’s not that I’m a food snob, I just enjoy learning about different food and restaurants and the culture behind them. My next food goal is to go back to San Francisco for Humphry Slocombe’s Secret Breakfast Ice Cream. I hear it’s divine. Essie Winter 2011 Collection Gives Back to Alpha Delta Pi

You’ve heard our photographer, Kaitlyn, and me blog about our awesome Essie experience as they gave away free mini-manicures at HEB last week for their Bling It On Sorority Challenge. Since then and completely addicted to their beautiful wintery shades, I’ve bought Cocktail Bling and going back to HEB to pick up Bobbing For Baubles. It’s [...]

TODAY ONLY! Give Your Nails Some Lovin’ by Essie Nail Polish

Calling all women of UT! If you’re like me who loves to have your nails polished by way too lazy to do it, today is the perfect day to head on over to HEB at Hancock Center (Red River and 41st Street) to get your polish change done by Essie. Today’s ‘Bling It On’ event [...]

Free Essie Nail Event at HEB: October 21-22, 2011

One of the worst things about being a college student is that I NEVER have time to do my own nails. There’s the deciding of the polish color, the actual painting itself, the mess-ups and fixing, and my least favorite part, the sitting there waiting for the polish to dry. Luckily this Friday and Saturday, [...]

#Winning is Music to my Ears

For those cool kids on campus, you may remember that recently Study Breaks teamed up with Kembrel.com and College Battle of the Bands on the UT campus to give away badass back-to-school survival kits. A couple lucky winners were not only able to score free survival kits, but they also entered their names to win the [...]

Reliving Electric Daisy Carnival

How would you like to relive the laser lights, sexy clowns, neon, masses of people and best of all, international sensations of the dance world like Kaskade, Deadmau5 and Afrojack? It’s been two months past, and I’m still kicking myself that I couldn’t attend this year’s Electric Daisy Carnival presented by Insomniac in Dallas. EDC [...]

R.I.P. Ryan Dunn

Today I received the saddest news since Heath Ledger’s death. At 3 a.m. Ryan Dunn, one of the many stars of Jackass and host of MTV’s Homewrecker, died in a fiery car crash in Pennsylvania, driving home drunk with a friend. Dunn died young at the age of 34. He was definitely one of my favorites from [...]

Internship Guide: How To Survive In An Unfamiliar City

Like most college students, if you’re not going abroad to “study” (let’s be real -studying abroad is just an excuse to be a beach bum and bar hop in a foreign city) or taking those dreadful summer classes,  you’re probably scrambling to either: A) find the perfect internship or B) tie up the loose ends to [...]

American Patriotism At Its Finest

With the wake of Bin Laden’s death exploding all over TV, social media, headlines of newspapers, and every other possible sort of other way to communicate, us rowdy Americans take this moment to show our patriotism to the red, white and blue. What does that entail, you ask? Well, aside from the cheerleaders stunting outside [...]

You Want WHAT? Celebrities’ Most Outrageous Requests

Inspired by this week’s episode of Glee, I got to thinking – if I were a celebrity, what crazy, outlandish things would I request? Certainly I wouldn’t go as far as requesting a fluffy puppy to dry my hands like Mercedes Jones, but I would demand anti-bacterial soap with the micro beads, Origins A Perfect [...]
